I felt the storm pass over the jagged hilltop
Rattling my bones
I saw lightning strike closer
And felt the smallness of my being
Away from the ruin and abandonment
And substance-less excuse for meaning
Distracted, Exhausted
This labyrinth has no beginning nor end
Yet deep in our bodies we feel the push and the pull
When every step taken is shrouded in doubt
And the numbing walls seem impossible to break
All of these courses,
Lead me here again
All of these choices,
Bring me to the End
A Spring that has no blossoms,
A rain that has no end,
All of these courses,
Lead me here again
Feel! Water flow through the soil
Feel! Moon guide ocean currents
Feel! Sun bringing new life each day
Feel! The push and the pull
And the pain.

I refuse this long life of slow dying!
The ashes of this hateful construct will nurture a thing wild and new
No more numbing the pain
No more seeking escape
Fight for the living,
Dream the Feral Dream
All of these courses,
Lead me home again
Up on the hill,
Casting brilliant glass shards at the sky
Waking to the cries of hawks
And the world turns again.
